The Peterborough Phantoms BMX Club were awarded a trophy for hosting the best event in this year's British Cycling BMX Race Series. Chairman: Pete Sargent with Best National Trophy

Chairman Pete Sargent received the trophy at the recent British Championships. A representative of the British Cycling BMX Commission said,

" The British Cycling BMX Commission wanted to recognise the efforts of the volunteer clubs, who host the National Series. A set of parameters were given to each of the five BMX regions to assess each of this years five events; with marks awarded for: the appearance of the event, organisation, promotion, facilities and quality of the race track.

As a result of the efforts made by the Peterborough Phantoms BMX Club, they came out on top. Winning a trophy and £400.00 ".

The club had worked hard preparing for the event, including securing essential grants from the City Council, Awards for All and Local Network Fund. The refurbishment and modifications to the track has made it one of the best tracks in the UK, and can be used by the local community all year round.
